Turkisch, Kurdish and Moroccan Dutch girls, 2010, (C-print on paper)
The starting point for this photo series were old photographs from the beginning of the 20th century of women from the Dutch province of Friesland wearing traditional clothes and headscarfs.
Then I asked these young Turkisch, Kurdish and Moroccan Dutch girls if I could take their portrait wearing their most traditional outfit including headscarf and posing in the same way as the Frisian women.
